Please read carefully before selecting your class and submitting this form!

Swim lesson sessions will be held Monday through Thursday with make-up days on Fridays.  You may miss one lesson day and still pass.   Please be mindful of others and only sign up for one session at a time.  Once your child completes their session either private or public you may inquire of lesson availability for another session.  You will be sent a confirmation email once lessons are assigned to the instructors.

 

Deadline for June public lesson sign-up is May 27th.

Deadline for July public lesson sign-up is June 27th.

 

PUBLIC LESSONS

Public lessons are Monday through Thursday for two weeks.  Swim lesson times and dates are subject to change based on class sizes and guard availability. Cost for public lessons is $35. 

 

Parent Child - All children must be accompanied by an adult, all children must be 4 years of age at the beginning of the session.  All children will be required to wear appropriate swim attire, included but not limited to a swim diaper, swim trunks or swim suit.  

 

Level 1 - All children entering level 1 must be 5 years old at the start of the session.  There are no entry requirements for Level 1.  In this level the child will learn to feel comfortable in the water, fully submerge head, front and back float unassisted for 5 seconds, and begin to understand arm movement and leg movement in the water.

 

Level 2 - All children entering level 2 are required to either have successfully passed level 1 swim lessons or be able to fully submerge head, float on both their front and back  unassisted for 5 seconds, and have a beginning understanding of arm and leg movement in the water.  In this level the child will learn to front float for 10 secs, back float for 15 secs, fully submerge head for 10 secs, swim on front and back for 2 body lengths, have a beginning understanding of treading water.

 

Level 3 - All children entering level 3 are required to either have successfully  passed level 2 swim lessons or be able to front float for 10 secs, back float for 15 secs, fully submerge head for 10 secs, swim on front and back for 2 body lengths, have a beginning understanding of treading water.  Please note there is a significant jump from level 2 skills to level 3 skills.  Successfully passing level 2 swim lessons does not necessarily mean your child will be immediately ready for Level 3.  In this level your child will learn to front crawl for 15 yards, begin rotary breathing, elementary backstroke for 15 yards, tread water for 1 min, and begin deep water skills.

 

Level 4 - All children entering level 4 are required to either have successfully passed level 3 or be able to front crawl for 15 yards, begin rotary breathing, elementary backstroke for 15 yards, and tread water for 1 min.  In this level your child will learn to front crawl 25 yards, elementary backstroke 25 yards.  Butterfly, breaststroke, back crawl, and sidestroke for 15 yards.  They will also begin mastering deep water skills.

 

Level 5 - All children entering level 5 are required to either have successfully passed level 4 swim lessons or are able to front crawl for 15 yards, begin rotary breathing, elementary backstroke for 15 yards, and tread water for 1 min.  In this level your child will learn to front crawl 25 yards, elementary backstroke 25 yards.  Have a beginning knowledge of butterfly, breaststroke, back crawl, and sidestroke.  Please note there is a significant jump from level 4 skills to level 5 skills.  Successfully passing level 4 swim lessons does not necessarily mean your child will be immediately ready for Level 5.  In this level your child will learn to front crawl and elementary backstroke for 50 yards.  Butterly, breaststroke, back crawl, sidestroke for 25 yards, tread water for 5 min, back float for 10 min, and advanced deep water skills.

Level 6 - Please note level 5 and level 6 are often taught together.  All children entering level 6 will be required to have successfully passed level 5 or have the ability to swim front crawl and elementary backstroke for 50 yards, have a beginning knowledge of butterfly breaststroke, back crawl and sidestroke.  In level 6 your child will learn to successfully swim with endurance.  Reaching distances of 100 yard front crawl and 50 yard back crawl.  They will continue to refine their skills.

  

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons are Monday through Thursday for one week.  These will be scheduled on a 1st-come 1st-served basis and according to guard availability.  You may choose 2-3 preferred times and dates.  Choosing a preferred time and date does not guarantee that spot. The cost for private lessons is $50
