Renning Landing is conveniently located between Clarksville and Shell Rock.  It will become a valuable community asset for canoeists, kayakers and sportsmen wanting to take a lazy half day float trip from Clarksville to the Landing, or from the Landing to Shell Rock.

The Eldon Renning Estate, Joe Renning, Janet Renning and Linda Renning Moeller, in conjunction with the Shell Rock Development Corporation, have agreed to gift a portion of their farmland along the Shell Rock River to the local community for the establishment of a passive use public access point and river landing.  The Shell Rock Development Corporation will be transferring ownership of Renning Landing to the Butler County Conservation Commission.

The wooded two acre river frontage property, known as “Renning Landing”, is located approximately one half way between Shell Rock and Clarksville along 205TH Street, and is easily accessible to the public by car or truck.

The site has been in the Renning family for many years.  Eldon Renning, who died June 13, 2006, had allowed local boaters and sportsmen to use the landing for recreational purposes, and it had become a popular and well known river access point.

It is the wish of the Renning Family that the Landing remains in its natural state as much as possible for the continued enjoyment and use by the local community. If you don't own a canoe or kayak, rent one from CrawDaddy Outdoors and take a trip to or from Renning Landing.
