Regular Meeting Shell Rock City Council

                              January 4, 2011

              Mayor Larry Young called the regular meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Council members Donald Bonzer, Benjamin DeWitt, Glen Kliebenstein, and Rosalee Meyer were present.  Council member James DeWitt was absent.  There were eight people in the audience

              Motion by Kliebenstein seconded by Meyer to approve the agenda with any additions.  Ayes-Bonzer, B. DeWitt, Kliebenstein, and Meyer.  Nays-None.  Absent-J. DeWitt.  Motion carried.

              Motion by Meyer seconded by Kliebenstein to approve the consent agenda that included the following items:  The minutes of December 7, 2010, the Payment of the Bills, and the Financial Reports for the month of November, 2010.  Roll Call Vote:  Ayes-Bonzer, B. DeWitt, Kliebenstein, and Meyer.  Nays-None.  Absent-J. DeWitt.  Motion carried.

              Motion by Bonzer seconded by Kliebenstein to accept the Mayor’s appointment of Robert Greenlee to the Butler County Solid Waste Commission.  Ayes-Bonzer, B.DeWitt, Kliebenstein, and Meyer.  Nays-None.  Absent-J. DeWitt.  Motion carried.

              Motion by Benjamin DeWitt seconded by Meyer to make the following appointments for the calendar year 2011:

              Mayor Young set up the budget meetings for the fiscal year 2012 budget on January 12th at 5:30 p.m., January 17th at 5:30 p.m., and January 19th at 5:30 p.m. 

              Council decided to pay the Butler County Engineer for the repaving of W. Main Street over three years for $22,528.28 for a total amount of $67,584.85.

              Motion by Kliebenstein seconded by Bonzer to approve Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $29,160.00 for extra work completed on the F.Y. 2010 Shell Rock Industrial Park.  Roll Call Vote:  Ayes-Bonzer, B. DeWitt, Kliebenstein, and Meyer.  Nays-None.  Absent-J. DeWitt.  Motion carried.

              Motion by B. DeWitt seconded by Kliebenstein to approve Pay Application No. 3 for the F.Y. 2010 Shell Rock Industrial Park to K. Cunningham Construction in the amount of $314,316.62.  Roll Call Vote:  Ayes-Bonzer, B. DeWitt, Kliebenstein, and Meyer.  Nays-None.  Absent-J. DeWitt.  Motion carried.

              Resolution 001-2011 was introduced by Bonzer seconded by Kliebenstein:  A RESOLUTION TO APPOINT A REPRESENTATIVE AND ALTERNATE REPRESENTATIVE TO THE BUTLER COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COMMISSION.  Be It Resolved that Mike Tellinghuisen be appointed as the Emergency Management Commission Representative; and Be It Further Resolved Louis Staudt be appointed as the Alternate Representative; and Be It Further Resolved that the Representative or Alternate Representative attend the Commission meetings on behalf of the City of Shell Rock.  Roll Call Vote:  Ayes-Bonzer, B. DeWitt, Kliebenstein, and Meyer.  Nays-None.  Absent-J. DeWitt.  Motion carried.

              Motion by Meyer seconded by B. DeWitt to adjourn at 8:02 p.m.  Ayes-Bonzer, B. DeWitt, Kliebenstein, and Meyer.  Nays-None.  Absent-J. DeWitt.  Motion carried.
